Recognized as a non-profit in Baltimore, Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter (BARCS) in Baltimore, MD works to improve the lives of homeless animals in our community. Each year, they take in almost 12,000 animals that are unwanted, abused, and stray. Unfortunately, many of these rescued animals are victims of abuse or have been left abandoned on the streets. 

Local vets often with with BARCS to treat and care for sick and injured animals. When the animals are treated and rehabilitated, they can be adopted by new families in our community. The goal of the shelter is to accept all animals that need a home, and BARCS aims to transition them to low-stress homes that offer a comfortable environment.
